These are works made since my last exhibition in 2000, and are mostly un-exhibited. Self-Portrait N°2 and If lips could fly were shown in a group exhibition held at the Take 5 Café during October 2004. I am developing and transforming ideas and techniques which made their apparition in earlier paintings, and some which did not. I have been trying to avoid set manners of working: “I am always eager not to tire the canvas (…) So many painters today have formed a trick. I have never been able to find one.” I came across this quotation four years ago, it does reflect my way of working. Since I painted my studio white (it was a light grey-blue, as it used to be a bedroom), I have become much more aware of the colour palette I use, which has changed somewhat since then. This is an open-ended series, there are major works still on easels, they will be incorporated as well into this collection, eventually. Bestiary, and the poems from Words from between, somehow constitutes a mirror of my position in space and time these days. © Pablo Luis González Comments » Do you want to receive news? | Subscribe » Report a broken link | Report » SEARCH | INDEX | UPDATE | EMAIL Page updated: 18 August 2006 |
